... River, pristine, wooded forest, small farmhouses with fields of green crops and barely a car to be seen. We came to La Barde for lunch and a relax by the pool In the late afternoon we toured some of the nearby villages - Domme, Castelnaud and La Roque-Gageac - not in depth, just enough to get our bearings and take in the scenery each had to offer.

On Tuesday, the weather was predicted to be mild, cloudy and chance of rain, so we planned for this day to ...

I will say this firmly, I will not do it again. If I see that it is going to be that hot, I refuse to go more than 25km. This was really miserable for me.

When we finally, mercifully arrived in town, we flagged down a car to ask directions to the refuge. The old man in the car got out and walked ...

Day 34 –

As predicted, it rain today…a lot. The first hour and a half of our hike was a long a dangerous highway and it poured. We hadn't eaten breakfast yet because the hotel hadn’t offered any, so we planned to stop in the first town we saw. When we arrived in town, we stopped at a small chain grocery store to buy bread, fruit, and cheese. The shop had an awning out front, so we took off our wet outer layers and ate our breakfast. ...
