... where we arrived late in the afternoon. We walked into the brand new terminal arrival section which was about four times as large as the old one. It was well staffed, so lines were not too long. We walked to the transit line where we still had to fill out arrival forms giving all our personal information. Then we were allowed down to the new departure area. Since the flight on which we arrived was a codeshare will Air France and Kenya Airways, we were allowed ...

    Last day and african observations

Had the breakfast that was provided at the hotel which was very French with sweet croissants and baguettes. It was nice to sit on the verandah and take in, for the last time, the cloud shrouded incredible high crater walls that surround the village. purple, which seemed to be tucked in a corner. Even though it was late in the
afternoon we decided to go for a walk rather in ...

... consisting three courses of creole food and red wine. One of the best food we have had on a tour like this. After lunch we continued east and descended just as steeply and twisty as coming up but on that side of the island there is rain forest on almost vertical hillsides. Finally we stopped in St Denis for a quick look at Government House, the oldest building on the island. Both Mauritius and Reunion had no native people and have only been occupied since ...

    World Cruise Day #84

A travel blog entry by ryanhamer1 on Mar 29, 2014

Today we are on the island of Reunion, a french island east of Madagascar. Unfortunately we didn't have much time here due to a crew drill in the morning and an early evening 'Abba' show to prepare for. We managed to get the shuttle to the nearest town of Saint-Denis at the northernmost point of the island. We were interested in going to see some waterfalls which were close by and our driver told ...
