... headed to the gold museum - lots of interesting stuff but 2 museums in a row may have been a little much for the boys. The kids were keen to go back to Sovereign Hill so off we went. Yesterday Ethan became a bit upset when his rainbow candle ended up a little brown (rainbows aren't brown!) so we were off to do another one. THis time we got it right so all was good - until it got a little broken later in the day... not good! Then saw an ingot ...
Ballarat, Victoria, Australia drownsroundaus... side their vegetable and herb gardens and a wok in every tent. Dave and Jacob then went through the Red Hill Gold Mine down about five stories through narrow and dark corridors for a 15 minute tour. Jacob did not let go of my hand all the way as you will see in the before and after photos,he isn't all that fearless after all. We then attacked the creek bed to pan for gold, where they say they dump little bits of gold and he who finds gets to keep. It's true ...

Ballarat, Australia keenos... it as a computer default in my head. False programming of old feelings... I seem to have this false belief that if I'm not taken care of in a certain way someone is trying to belittle me. But she was clearly stating the facts. I didn't figure this out till way later in the afternoon. So besides the point I go next door to see if they wish to take my donation and they r busy and close the door.. again my small feelings went further to the floor... strike 3 ...

Melbourne Surreyhills, Australia carolinesheartWe left Uluru about 4 pm on Feb 2nd. We were absolutely exhausted by the heat. From just after 8 am to about 8 pm it is unbearably hot, about 40. When the sun shines through a car window on you, it feels like a laser burning. We made many efforts to cover up windows that allowed direct sunlight through. A couple of hours from Uluru we stumbled upon 6 live camels (not to be confused with all the roadkill that we saw, which included one camel, one Emu, hundreds of ...
Malbourne, Australia mrewkowski... for Dracula's for Cathy's 50th Birthday, it turned out to be more of a treat for Steve and Kris as it was more sleazy than Scary! In Melbourne Kris rented a Mobility Scooter, first stop was a tour of the Melbourne Cricket Ground! We walked miles and Miles around Melbourne trying to keep up with Kris who seemed to speed up gradually through-out the day. Steve had to catch the scooter as Kris nearly topped it on a steep incline. After all the ...
Ballarat and Beyond, Australia escapefromuk... car over the rain forest (7.5 km) with a couple of viewing platforms to jump off at. Pretty incredible views and mad bird noises eveywhere. Cairns was also a pretty good place to wander round, there was a museum, art gallery weird Japanese shops everywhere (and an awful lot of Japanese people about, I suspect a link!) that seemed to sell very big fluffy toys and dancing robots. Had an excelelnt all you can eat meal in the Casino which for an addirtional small fee ...
Melbourne, Australia isie... and we were rock climbing following red arrows painted at strategic places to keep us on course. The view at this stage opened up and we could see across the top of the forest to other mountains rising across the gorge. Surrounding us were dozens of interesting rock formations and towers of stone shaped by the elements and gravity! The hike was very satisfying and the views from the to made it all worth while. A viewing platform with barrier had been erected at the top ...
