From Cliff Well we left the safety of Glens home in Jacksonville and got a nice sendoff from Lisa and the girls as well as a fantastic roast chicken dinner the night prior. We had the bikes serviced at the local Harley shop in the break as well as repacking. We were a little late in leaving due to me sleeping in but left a little after 8am. We rode about 3hrs to a place called Savanah and did a lap of the town on the bikes and stopped for lunch at an old pirates bar. ...

... is a situation where a kindle would be great (for downtime reading too), but since we don't have one, we have to make do. So I took our guidebook and cut out the pages I thought we might need. I easily omitted hundreds of pages (and ounces!) just for Greece and Spain and only kept the London, Paris, and Munich sections of the UK, France and Germany respectively.

Hi there,
Thanks for reading our blog! I am John Wilhite and my wife Amanda and I are about to embark on a six week backpacking tour of of Europe. Our plan is to travel cheap and experience as much authentic Europe as we can. We will be hitting the must see cities and also getting plenty of small town and local flavor, all while (hopefully) avoiding the tourist traps.
