... one of our five a day banked we made our way back to the motel room and on route had an encounter with the world largest month, easily 10cm in length.

Running out of ideas for entertainment we stayed in the motel room for around an hour and waited for the temperature outside to change from warm and pleasant to frick'n hot! Finally with a plan formulated and the clock reading 9am we decided that things surely must be open ...

... memorial park to put the flowers on uncle J's grave. After playing hide and seek with uncle J for a while we did eventually find him when a memorial park attendant was kind enough to tell us where his grave was hiding.

Grave decorated we decided to take a trip around historic downtown Tucumcari. Most of Tucumcari's oldest buildings lie along or near Main Street in the Historic Downtown area. These include:

High on my bucket was (and I say was) Taos. Poor Tom drove about nine hours, some of them in a raging rain storm. Taos was a bust. We immediately headed for Santa Fe.
The ride, however to Taos was nothing short of spectacular. The landscapes were like paintings. We traveled through sage brush fields and majestic mountains. We miss so much of this beautiful country when we travel by plane.

Was told that this a is a good viewing area during spring & fall migration. - Short hiking trail in the sand dumes. - Last 10 years, or so, a large number of dairy farms/feed lots moved to the area.
