... separate ways. Time to meet back up again - we had two smiling faces and two disappointed faces. Let's just say, I bought lunch this time!
Off we went to Solvang. Literally translated from Danish, Solvang means sunny field. This is a little ray of sunshine, friendly people and an atmosphere that is both relaxing and inviting. Two words: free parking. Where do you find THAT anywhere anymore? We strolled the streets going from bakery to bakery! We ...

Walked around the town and enjoyed the atmosphere. Hans Christian Andersen actually lived and taught ...

      Greetings from Santa Barbara.

This leg would see us challenge Point Conception, referred to by many as the "Cape Horn" of the US west coast. This hurdle had been hovering somewhere in the dark recesses of all of our minds as the big challenge of the trip. It was the big bad boogeyman. Think skull and cross bones. We were. Yeah we had crossed countless harbor bars, rounded multiple capes and made it through the Golden Gate. All ...

... freezing cold water and sat on the beach for half an hour.

On the road again, we headed along the coast further, then headed inland to a town called Buellton which is famous for achieving local fame with cartoon billboards advertising its specialty, pea soup. However when we got there, we drove around looking for the billboards but could not find any! So we went to a grocery store to get some water and snacks for our lunch, then went and found ...
