... it's been a long day for Andy to drive. We jumped on the I44 which was a toll section, had to get our toll ticket and paid for it at Will Rogers Turnpike, but would get a refund at Claremore the next junction off (only $2) and back on to Route 66 to find our stay for the night. ... BSprings seems to be experiencing they could have kept this gem open and staffed with volunteers made it a real drawcard for the town. My suggestion is that they combined it with the R66 visitors centre - they have a guy living in town that inspired the Mater character in the Cars movie - he would be great to have there too. ... I was simply trying to do my best. It just goes to show that the band members of Def Leppard are of a different breed. They care very much about those around them and do everything they can to make you feel welcome. I truly could not have asked for a better group of guys (Band and crew) to be a part of. I am now a member of the Def Leppard family.

We took our time leaving today, inasmuch as we knew it was only about 3 hours from Elk City to Broken Arrow. Up and gone from Park by 9:30, stopping then for gas and another cup of coffee.

The winds were bearable, less than 25mph mostly, so we made good time. A few slow downs around El Reno where we witnessed some of the devastation on either side of the highway (pitiful!) and then we just kept to I-40. Every mile presented ...
