    ... Fireworks were shooting off in all directions - everywhere you looked. Then the largest show was the fireworks shooting off at the capital which was right in front of us. It was the best firework show(s) I had every seen! We felt so grateful to be able to have that experience. After the fireworks ended we went back to the townhouse and sat on the patio and to enjoy the peaceful night! Overall, it was a great 4ht of July! ...

    It was really the best Thanksgiving in living memory...while I certainly thought plenty about the food, I also was relaxed and enjoyed Fred and Jeremy's company so much. I did quite a bit of knitting, so that kept my hands busy, drank lots of hot tea, and wasn't nervous mental wailing that I couldn't eat everything in sight...

    ... as in a delay from 21:17 to 23:40 local time!  We were thus able to execute on our original plan of having Larry get his bag, the rental car, and then get down (actually, "up" on most maps) to our B&B called "Susitna Place" on N street.  I just didn't plan to be this late.    I met the owner "Linda" at the B&B, she showed me the rooms and general layout and gave me the keypad code so I wouldn't trouble them anymore going back to the airport.  I ...

    ... the evening, we took a cab out to a restaurant called Northeast Social, which was very good, and fun, with a pressed tin ceiling and old brick architecture. We met Amy and her partner, and it was great to reconnect.

    Amy and Igor drove us back to the hotel (which was very nice of them), then we had drinks at the hotel bar, since it was included with our room. Then, to bed.
