... spoke English. When I finally found one who did he said I should just wait. Another 15 minutes went by and still I waited, hoping I was visible enough for Gabe to find me, see me. Finally I decided that no one was left in the store and Gabe must have left through another door. Ten minutes later I decided to get out of the crowd and search. As I stepped away a bystander with friends in the crowd lunged forward and the police tear gassed ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic claraz8Very quick entry for starters. We met up with the truck on Monday morning in London, loaded up our bags and set off very slowly to Dover. The crossing was great thankfully and we set off from Calais to drive to Belgium. The first night we spent camping on the grass behind a service station in Belgium which actually wasn't that bad. The police turned up for a bit but after ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic jirdgirl... is. Beautiful. In every sense of the word. Its increasing popularity as a tourist destination over the past couple of decades has had the result that prices in the central area are now pretty much the same as those in Western Europe. Throngs of tourists converge on the picturesque old town square its surrounding streets and the Charles Bridge. Art and music, clubs and buskers are everywhere. Small galleries with free ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic superg... to the port for our ferry that left at 3:30. On the 8-hour ride back to Athens, a group of Eastern European kids (I say kids, but they were around the same age as us, probably older.) decided to be as loud and obnoxious as possible by singing, clapping, and stomping for a good 4 hours. We made it back on time, and went straight to the airport. The Athens airport was home for the next 25 hours. Yikes. We slept on seats ...
Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic lmk... and saliva all over my hood that I had a hard time removing it! Probably pulled out a few moustache hair with it...Nevertheless we found a great hotel just beside the old city square... The next day I finally got to discover Praha! The highlight of this Europe tour! Beautiful place and you walk in town with your mouth open as you can't help yourself from being stunned by the buildings...Everything seem so old but ...
Prague, Czech Republic caprile... have spent the last 8 years in Michigan.
Friday we again play football in the gym after school. It is faculty versus students which is a hoot. And besides some bumps and bruises my ego isn’t too damaged! Walking home in the rain is a real bummer. I have an umbrella which works well for about 15 minutes, but beyond that the water just seems to splash and soak up from everywhere. At least it hasn’t been too rainy in the morning yet ...
Prague, Czech Republic jelg... markets throughout the city, so we drank the wine while wandering around those. That reminds me...it was MUCH colder in Prague than in Rome! Not as cold as I expected, but definitely enough for a sweater and a warm jacket. I liked it because it made it really feel like Christmas, especially with the markets and all the people, and they had big trees lit up everywhere. It actually made me want to go home to start celebrating with my family and friends ...
Prague, Czech Republic sarahgrace... to get me a taxi to where Heinrich was assassinated. So happened the driver was really into the nazis, had a kind of swastika tattoo on his arm - scary. Mentioned Hitler had a good idea trying to make 1 Europe, just went about it in the wrong way - scary. Site was a bit anoraky so took a few pictures and got him to drop me at bus station to go to Lidice. He thought I was a star thinking I was Nazi also. He overcharged me but didn't want to argue. Missed stop on bus. Found an ...
Prague, Czech Republic ced... the moment. And then start stealing things. It started with the leftover food, which we were going to pay for and therefore was ours anyway. Admittedly the wine glass and napkin we used to smuggle it away in weren't ours, but that is merely circumstantial evidence. We also swiped the salt and pepper shakers, because they were authentic Greek and would make great presents for Marie-Louise's parents. And I stole a spoon. It was a souvenir, and I was ready to claim in my ...
