Escape from Alcatraz & Fisherman's Warf

A travel blog entry by czardas

An early start to catch the 8.45 boat over to Alcatraz, the first boat of the day. We grab a cab and it takes us about 10 minutes from Union Square and was $10.00 We grab a coffee from a nearby cafe and board the boat. It doesn't take long to get to the Island and it's still pretty foggy. We head up the steep paths and into the building. ... was a huge line!) and I managed to make it to the airport with just an hour to spare. The ride itself was a lot of fun. I rode seated to the wharf and rode standing on the side (and in the front too) on the way back. For me, it was a lot of fun and I'm glad I managed to squeeze it in. It's a great way to end my time in San Francisco.

This entire trip has been a series of amazing moments, ones that I am grateful for having and will treasure always. ...
