... br> It was two months to the day since I'd arrived in America, I had been immersed in the enthusiasm and dedication of brothers and sisters right across the country, so much so that I'll do a further entry just to touch on some of the high points that haven't been covered to date.
I've also realised that I didn't cover the visit Ashley and I made to Brooklyn, so I'll have to come back and add that in. But most likely I'll do that from home.
We are on the road again...no surprises there. Currently sitting in a cute Mexican Restaurant having Octopus/Shrimp tostadas. The octopus was a surprise..but, not bad at all. We are in Los Banos. This is the heart of agricultural America...Almost all of the people we have seen in the last several hours are Hispanic...and very very nice folks. We are headed to Gilroy, the Garlic Capital of the World! Well...Our luck has held ...
... and soon we found that the road was snow covered and starting to feel treacherous. We kept going at a snails pace and eventually we had joined a convoy of other refugees all tiptoeing through the storm. The conditions worsened and cars started sliding off the road and into ditches and into each other. This was no joke as from time to time sliding off the road would actually mean sliding over a precipice into the valley below

We had read on someone's blog that you could pick up a sub sandwich at a Subway at the exit. Uh, wrong. It's the previous exit. So if you think you might get hungry for lunch, make sure you bring it because there are no services at this exit and unless you want to go caveman on some grazing cow, well you are sol.
Including a stop for gas, it took me about an hour ...
