For an extra $15.00 over the cost of a tent site, I was able to get an air-conditioned room at Motel 6. It is such a good feeling. I Finally Caught a Break
... a bike shop. I was directed to herb's Cyclery, at 215 W. Main in Merced, now I remember where I was. I dropped by Herb's and found a cool, but messy bike shop, where Herb adjusted my bike for free. Thanks, Herb. He said that he would look at travelers bikes for a reasonable charge, depending on what needs to be done. Well, that's it.
