The Longest Day Begins

Just Making Miles

We decided not to try the alligator tenders (maybe another time!) and settled for crab cake for Peter & grilled shrimp for me, all very good especially the baked potato. There was some strange stuff for sale in jars there that we passed on, don't want to try everything ...

... bring us to a sceeching halt for a time and so I started looking for a campground closer to Houston. Well, the GPS told us ETA in Beaumont would be about 5:30. Of course that would be straight driving and since we're older, we knew we would have to stop a couple of times, making ETA closer to 6pm. We decided to go for it.

We made our mandatory stop at Buckees and then since we had 32 ounce drinks, another stop to get rid of the drinks and switch drivers. ...
