If you ever get the chance to do an airboat tour of Louisiana swamp, don't think about it -just do it!

Today was so much fun. I think we hit lucky with Captain Gary though. He was brilliantly bonkers. Must be something in the name eh ;)

Our tour group for the day consisted of twelve people. Six of those all knew each other from Vancouver, so they were put on one air boat. The other six, including us three, a couple from California and Amy from New York, ...

And it is as unAmerican as you can find...the French, the Spanish, the Italians, the English...they have all made their mark here and it is a sort of European place with Cajuns and Creole thrown in... Venture out of the French Quarter (albeit the very beautiful French Quarter) and you are rewarded with the more real ...

At the ripe old age of 9 Lazy Magnolia is "Mississippi's Oldest Brewery", only a few years ago they were the only brewery in MS which is pretty funny. Many of the PVC pipes were held together with duct tape. An electrical engineer and a chemical engineer couple started up the whole operation!

We arrived in NOLA and realized our outside of town hotel was very ...

... be discontinued completely as is being suggested.

We spent 2 nights down in the French
Quarter, the 30th and the 31st of December. The 30th
saw us do some tourist things, like taking the St. Charles Trolley, which I had
in my mind that I wanted to do, and now that I have wished I hadn’t bothered.
The car was packed and we had to stand up for most of it, and then the line was
    under construction out past ...
