The weather is pleasant while we are here, but it takes a while for me to start feeling better. We do manage a couple of walks along the trails. On one such walk we head into the wooded area by the river. Here we spot a couple of young juvenile Prairie Falcons squawking up in the tree. We must have found a nesting site. I do manage to get a couple of shots before the mosquitos eat us alive.

This was discovered early in the 1900’s by a ...

This was brought on by us trying to find a way to get from I-70 to I-80 with as few mountain passes as possilbe. We checked out two ways and each had two 8,000 ft. heights. So we tried another route that was not supposed to have any steep runs. Well the route we took was not devoid of some steep runs ...

... Maybell is congested when 600 horses from the Sombrero Ranch Great American Horse Drive trot through town. 6cqE

If you decided to overnight in Maybell, you could find a room at the Victory Hotel, the Red Rose Motel, or a nearby guest ranch. You could camp in the town park where you'd pay $15 to $20 a night for a site and $3 for a shower. There is an honor system. No one checks ...
