... oldies cause consists of stuff like meatloaf, roast beef, chicken & dumplings, etc. But it was really yummy and I'm so over junk food at the moment. It was good to be able to have chicken and rice and baby carrots and corn, all for the princely sum of $7.99!
Tomorrow we're going to head to Alburqurque (if that's how you spell it) and kind of decide from there whether we're going to keep going east or head north instead!
... of a semi. Trains roll noisily through town; highway 66 is long gone but the crossroads live on. Rows of igloos hold missiles underneath bomb-proof shelter. Landfills and coal plants surround the town, an environmental justice catastrophe. The white people in town all work as teachers for Teach of America or as health specialists. They all know each other ...
Gallup, New Mexico, United States fossilfuelfreeWe had a very interesting night. We called around and used all available resources to try to find a Motel for the night but were not able to. According to Hotwire and Priceline the town of Cortez, AZ doesn't even exist. It isn't even on the map. So we made call after call for a room in Williams, AZ with the excuse that it was the end of the season and every room in every hotel and motel was booked. So we were stuck with ...
Gallup, New Mexico, United States ridewithjoe... the fox enclosure. You thought that I was done mentioning it, well I will be once it is finished and hopefully by Saturday work will be complete on it and then Romeo will arrive. Where art thou o Romeo - ****ing Iowa is where. A picture will be included of this project because I have put a lot of hard slog and toil over this enclosure and all for a fox. I'm sure the little ****er will probably pass away soon after he arrives and then $3,000 will have ...
Ramah, New Mexico, United States wolfieboy69... s every now and then and I assumed it was one of these creatures messing about outside my hogan (Ooh stop messing about!). I have to say I wasn't feeling brave enough that day to open my door and say 'Morning Fawlty'. Returning to sleep was the sensible option and this is what I promptly did. Upon leaving my hogan in the morning I saw a mouse dead in the water. I put my glasses on to double check, but here Ladies and Gentleman was indeed ...
Ramah, New Mexico, United States wolfieboy69... here it is carted away on a trolley and then put in a black bag and left in the freezer. It is funny when each morning you collect the chicken to feed the wolves and wolf dogs and see a black sack with two dead animals in. Remember to think of them the next time you open your freezer and pull out a Cornetto or whatever else that lurks in your freezer. Maybe I should take one home and market it in some place like Grimsby. I'm ...
Ramah, New Mexico, United States wolfieboy69... removed the floating pieces from my foot. My saving grace was that it was a small nail and didn't need any further treatment apart from a clean up and a plaster covering the indentation. It doesn't stop there as yesterday I suffered thanks to the wind (not my wind people!). Two guys, one 6ft 5ins and one 6ft 2ins were holding a pole and as I walked by the wind blew it onto to my head. Yes, it was painful and despite Josh ...

I drove a half mile further to the truck stop and paid 4.55 p/g. I try to spend local when traveling, but not when they want to gouge me. So I used the national chain and saved $18. Now to get out of this desert
Gallup, New Mexico, United States wbcci1529... us! Aside from working with the animals I have been landscaping and digging holes and doing other manual labour. I was even entrusted with an electric drill by the coolest volunteer here, 60 year old Mike. He must trust me. However, today marked the occasion when Fi (fellow Londoner and Real Gap volunteer) and I were given animals to look after. Okay, they are either Geriatric Wolves, Wolf Dogs or low-content animals with little ...
Ramah, New Mexico, United States wolfieboy69... of all ages, tribes, dressed in their finest regalia, dancing to the beat of drum beats. Click on this icon to view a video of the pow-wow. After a wonderful detour that lasted all morning, we continued our journey to the northeast to Gallup. Gallup, New Mexico is a railroad town full of pawn shops and trading posts, where Indians have traded their crafts for years. It was probably good that we ...
