We went to Deerfield Beach only 20 minutes from the house and were able to enjoy the seashore for about a half hour before the rain came. ... on his high-tech charcoal grill. Sunday, we had a tee time at Madison Green in Royal Palm Beach, one of my favorite courses in the area. Played with Randy and Frank, two of Lin's golfing friends. Great day for golf - but getting hot. Car thermometer said 91 when we left. Stopped to "re-wine", then home for a great lunch. Great hospitality. Sadly, Lin back to work on Monday, we are off on further adventures.
After Richard golfed, Pauline did laundry and Kirk washed the car we headed to Fort Lauderdale using A1A. It clearly is Spring Break as there are lots of young people on the beach and it was a beautiful day for it. The lifeguard stations were flying green flags indicating it was OK. As usual there were large ocean-going boats anchored off the inlet into Lauderdale although the port was largely empty of commercial traffic and cruise ships.
The Motel 6 had an IHOP on its grounds, so it only seemed fair to use it.
The waiter, Kohl, asked why we were in Cocoa, FL... we explained that it was simply cheap.

There were Kangaroos with Joeys peering out of their pouches, all kinds of unique birds, adorable Koala bears, well most of them anyway. The one they passed to me nipped me in the finger.
There was our Alice Springs Outback excursion where they served Vegemite on toast in the morning and so on. Sadly I departed Australia after only 24 days “down under.”
