The countdown has begun. Exactly one week from today, I will be on a plane to Africa. Its definitely getting more real now that its closer and plans are coming together. I'm so excited! The basic idea is that the first week or so, we will be doing a variety of activities including mission, health clinics, and digging/building a well. Then the last 4 days or so we will be traveling - seeing Mt Kilimanjaro, going ...

It feels good to get back to work, and it’s so great to meet other travel nurses. There’s a real camaraderie that exists between us from the start – knowing what we are getting into and being able ...

Under tøjstativer stod der små altre placeret, og jeg lærte på den hårde måde, at det altså var forbudt at tage billeder sf disse, uanset hvor malplacerede de nu engang var. We followed the pier all the way to the very end - a large park overlooked by the Ghirardelli chocolate factory - and had our very first views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Unfortunately, ...

No cribs available, even if they say so.

    from anonymous

The front desk said there would be a baby crib available, and I should simply ask for it when I arrive at check-in. Once I got there, they brought what looked like a 15 year old playpen with a large hole in the side of it: Big enough for a baby to stick his head through. Realizing there were no cribs, I sent the playpen back, asking for a new playpen. I waited about three hours, and nobody returned my call. After calling the front desk four different times (as the baby was crying to go to sleep), it turns out, this is the only playpen (which they were calling a "crib") that was available in the entire facility.

The truth is they do not have cribs, but they specifically told me on the phone that they would have a crib available. A 15 year old playpen with a hole in it is NOT a crib!

The beds are clean and there was a Gideon'sBible in the drawer.

The movies are $11 per movie.

The water pressure in the shower is the best I've ever experienced in a motel, although the shower curtains don't fit well, and the whole floor of the bathroom is wet after a shower.

The rooms are overpriced. If Marine World weren't close by, they probably would charge about $59 per night instead of over a hundred dollars.

If you DO stay in Vallejo, there was a very good Italian restaurant to get delivery from in the phone book. It's called NUJO's and their pizza is very very good, and they have a full menu for delivery.

Breakfast at 9 am has about 30 people packed into a tiny room that looks like its built for 15. The first thing I saw when I arrived was a person coughing all over the waffle maker. Needless to say, I skipped breakfast.

Terrible ! Beware: we had 3 ant nests in our room

    from anonymous

We travelled during spring break to celebrate our daughters birthday. Booked 3 nights at this hotel because of its close location to Six Flags/Marine World.

At check-in the desk staff were incredibly rude and not helpful. Our room was reasonable but we soon discovered that there were ant nests in the old carpet. One nest in the bathroom where ants were crawling out of the holes in the carpet, another nest somewhere in the kitchenette where ants were crawling everywhere around the microwave, coffee maker and the sink ! and another nest in the bedroom. Our daughter and myself could hardly stand being in that room. Manager was nowhere to be found. Staff offered to 'spray with insecticide" but we would not be able to sleep in a toxic room ! After much complaining and very much frustration, they finally offered us another room ! Late at night we had to pack up and move all our stuff 2 floors up. Manager finally spoke with us next day and promised free room nights. The complimentary continental breakfast was a joke; worst we have ever seen. Cereal was spilled everywhere on the counter and there was one tray with danish that was almost empty (and stayed empty!) and one bowl with apples ! Milk and Yogurt were kept out in the open, and were not refridgerated. Housekeeping was not done, room was left without amenities or towels. No apologies were ever offered for anything. Upon check-out we signed for the reduced bill but discovered days later that the hotel had processed the full rate for 2 days anyway. We are disputing these charges and warn anyone who even considers visiting Vallejo to NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL !

Great service and spacious room! I will visit this place again!

    from anonymous

The Best Western Inn & Suites at Marine World is 'hands-down' the best I've stayed at in Vallejo. The rooms were very spacious, that staff was extremely helpful, and the newly renovated property was beautiful.

I will stay at this property again. Five Stars!

    Terrible place

    from anonymous

the rooms were decent, clean and spacious, but the hotel staff was incredibly rude and not helpful. the hotel grounds were dirty and the place smelled of smoke. I will never stay at the best western again.

    Nice place to stay

    from anonymous

The hotel rooms have been remodeled since last year when I stayed here. They are very nice now and very clean. My room included a fridge, Micro and sink (all new). The only problem I had during this stay was that the rooms were not ready at check-in and I had somewhere to be before 4:00. It was very inconvenient and a lot of people were angry. Other than that, the employees were super nice and tried to be helpful. The pool area was very noisy with lots of children and adults rough-housing. If you can, avoid getting a room overlooking the pool or you won't get any peace until 10:00. The continental breakfast was not as good as years past - just a few choices of fruit, 2 choices of cereal and various pastries that they always seemed to be out of. It was always crowded in the room and they didn't stock up as often as they should have. That is a common problem though with continental breakfasts. I plan to stay here again next year and I would recommend it.

    A Perfect Stay!

    from anonymous

The rooms were brand new and the staff was helpful.

One of the best hotel experiences I've had.

    Definitely recommended!

    Needs Adult Supervision

    from anonymous

The night we arrived (11/04), it didn't seem that anyone over the age of 25 was in charge. There was totally inappropriate music blaring in the lobby, and the smell of cigarette smoke was pretty overwhelming. In our non-smoking room, the bedding reeked of smoke.

Interestingly, I was required to sign a "no party" agreement .... but judging from the music, smoke and attitude of the front desk help, I'm thinking they were partying enough for both of us.

I will not stay there again.

    Would Not Stay Again

    from Mission_Viejo_CA

We stayed Aug 4th 2004. Our stay included: Cont Break, 2 Q beds, micro, fridge, cable, pool, coffeemaker, ice, data port Comments: this sounded good on paper, the hotel was fine, the room was good sized, had basic amenities, the staff was helpful however, I would not stay here again. I was looking for a family friendly alternative to Napa and thought this would be good since it was near Marine World. Big mistake - the area is not good. I didn't feel safe. There was even a panhandler outside the door of the hotel. The hotel did call the police on him but still the damage had been done. Two mothers got into a cat fight over the facilities in the laundry room because there is only one washer and dryer on this large property and alot of families (translate lots of clothes). Was NOT a highlight on our trip. Maybe look for another nearby city or hotel row off freeway.

    Pretty Nice

    from anonymous

I recently stayed at the Best Western Inn at Marine World in Vallejo. I chose this hotel as an alternative to the more expensive hotels closer to Napa Valley. I was pleasantly surprised that this hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel was quite nice. The rooms were nice and roomy and very clean. The refrigerator and microwave were a nice plus. The continental breakfast wasn't bad either. The proximity to wine country was a little further than I had expected, but other than that -- I would definitely stay there again.

    Loved it

    from Purplefish

My first experience with this hotel is when I called the front dest full of questions about the property and the packages they had to offer. The desk clerk (Orlando) explained the Marine World Package's available and helped me decide what the best deal for my family would be. Great first impression. We arrived early (10 A.M.) on Saturday morning and were able to check right into our room. After unloading the car and going to our room, we were able to catch the shuttle (that runs for free) to Marine World. Before getting out of the shuttle the driver gave us the hotels business card so we could call when we needed to be picked up. We found that the customer service of this hotel to be great!!

The room we stayed in was spacious, and clean. The queen size beds were comfortable, and the shower pressure was wonderful, something that you don't usually find in a hotel.

The continental breakfast was a great plus too. I would definatly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a NICE, CLEAN, FRIENDLY place to stay while visiting Vallejo.
