Travel Blogs from Vallejo
I am still trying to get my head around getting the bike to a friend of James at Powerflex USA in the western Bay Area of San Francisco and then getting to the airport 50 miles away.
Anyway. I am staying in Vallejo and took the ferry into San Fran this afternoon.
Coming from Lakeport this morning it was 90+ degrees and climbing. Travelling south into the Napa valley (wearing my new gardening gloves), again I was shocked at the change in climate in ...
... fairly disappointing (compared to others we've seen) and a bird show that was good. Mummy and I went for a ride on an elephant called Valarie. We all went on Roar which was a fast wooden roller coaster with many sharp turns and steep drops. Mum and I sat at the back, with daddy in front of us. Before we left daddy and I had one more go on Medusa. It was a fun day but we were vey tired by the ...
... walk was freaking awesome and totally worth it. The views and experience from all aspects were everything I was hoping for.
Beijing - Beijing has a lot to do and see. The Forbidden City is cool, but I had already seen a lot of temples at that point. The crazy street food was fun to try, but be sure you know how much they are wanting before you hand them any money. Even if they prepared the food don't have a problem walking away saying that wasn't what you meant. For ...
... the Radisson Hotel we are booked into for our last two nights. Can't believe that his is nearly over, I am not ready to fly home yet as still got s much to see. We both decided to have a couple more drinks before going back to the hotel, we decided to go to the Gold Rush Saloon for a couple of beers, Julie had a Baileys as a pudding as we did not have one at the restaurant. Soon it was 11 o'clock and time foe ...

Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN PLUS Inn & Suites at Discovery Kingdom Vallejo
The front desk said there would be a baby crib available, and I should simply ask for it when I arrive at check-in. Once I got there, they brought what looked like a 15 year old playpen with a large hole in the side of it: Big enough for a baby to stick his head through. Realizing there were no cribs, I sent the playpen back, asking for a new playpen. I waited about three hours, and nobody returned my call. After calling the front desk four different times (as the baby was crying to go to sleep), it turns out, this is the only playpen (which they were calling a "crib") that was available in the entire facility.
We travelled during spring break to celebrate our daughters birthday. Booked 3 nights at this hotel because of its close location to Six Flags/Marine World.
Great service and spacious room! I will visit this place again!
The Best Western Inn & Suites at Marine World is 'hands-down' the best I've stayed at in Vallejo. The rooms were very spacious, that staff was extremely helpful, and the newly renovated property was beautiful.
I will stay at this property again. Five Stars!
the rooms were decent, clean and spacious, but the hotel staff was incredibly rude and not helpful. the hotel grounds were dirty and the place smelled of smoke. I will never stay at the best western again.
The hotel rooms have been remodeled since last year when I stayed here. They are very nice now and very clean. My room included a fridge, Micro and sink (all new). The only problem I had during this stay was that the rooms were not ready at check-in and I had somewhere to be before 4:00. It was very inconvenient and a lot of people were angry. Other than that, the employees were super nice and tried to be helpful. The pool area was very noisy with lots of children and adults rough-housing. If you can, avoid getting a room overlooking the pool or you won't get any peace until 10:00. The continental breakfast was not as good as years past - just a few choices of fruit, 2 choices of cereal and various pastries that they always seemed to be out of. It was always crowded in the room and they didn't stock up as often as they should have. That is a common problem though with continental breakfasts. I plan to stay here again next year and I would recommend it.
A Perfect Stay!
The rooms were brand new and the staff was helpful.
One of the best hotel experiences I've had.
Needs Adult Supervision
The night we arrived (11/04), it didn't seem that anyone over the age of 25 was in charge. There was totally inappropriate music blaring in the lobby, and the smell of cigarette smoke was pretty overwhelming. In our non-smoking room, the bedding reeked of smoke.
Interestingly, I was required to sign a "no party" agreement .... but judging from the music, smoke and attitude of the front desk help, I'm thinking they were partying enough for both of us.
I will not stay there again.
We stayed Aug 4th 2004. Our stay included: Cont Break, 2 Q beds, micro, fridge, cable, pool, coffeemaker, ice, data port Comments: this sounded good on paper, the hotel was fine, the room was good sized, had basic amenities, the staff was helpful however, I would not stay here again. I was looking for a family friendly alternative to Napa and thought this would be good since it was near Marine World. Big mistake - the area is not good. I didn't feel safe. There was even a panhandler outside the door of the hotel. The hotel did call the police on him but still the damage had been done. Two mothers got into a cat fight over the facilities in the laundry room because there is only one washer and dryer on this large property and alot of families (translate lots of clothes). Was NOT a highlight on our trip. Maybe look for another nearby city or hotel row off freeway.
I recently stayed at the Best Western Inn at Marine World in Vallejo. I chose this hotel as an alternative to the more expensive hotels closer to Napa Valley. I was pleasantly surprised that this hotel exceeded my expectations. The hotel was quite nice. The rooms were nice and roomy and very clean. The refrigerator and microwave were a nice plus. The continental breakfast wasn't bad either. The proximity to wine country was a little further than I had expected, but other than that -- I would definitely stay there again.
My first experience with this hotel is when I called the front dest full of questions about the property and the packages they had to offer. The desk clerk (Orlando) explained the Marine World Package's available and helped me decide what the best deal for my family would be. Great first impression. We arrived early (10 A.M.) on Saturday morning and were able to check right into our room. After unloading the car and going to our room, we were able to catch the shuttle (that runs for free) to Marine World. Before getting out of the shuttle the driver gave us the hotels business card so we could call when we needed to be picked up. We found that the customer service of this hotel to be great!!
