Close to the highway good for a quick stop. Includes the average hotel breakfast. Beds and bathrooms were clean (although did have a fly and a mosquito flying around the room and the breakfast area). Pretty quiet. Pleasant clerk at check in and pleasant staff at breakfast.

... while we talked to John. The 2 of us ate the whole pizza! And then, suddenly, it seemed, it was time to hit the road.

I'm writing this post as Jeff drives through north Florida (I drove from Simpsonville to Warner Robbins). We are listening to the East Village Opera Company LOUD on the car stereo (piped in from Jeff's iPhone).

Holy mackerel!!! A semi just cut us off - good reflexes on Jeff's part, but I'd better stop writing and "help" him drive!

We stopped by the Allman Brothers museum at Macon (rhymes with bacon) yesterday, which is 'the big house' where the band all lived at the height of their creative period. Definitely one for the obsessive fan, but still ok just to wander around aimlessly, despite a lack of any meaningful labelling. Hey, that's rock and roll, dude.

Jimmy Carter National Historic Site, Plains, Georgia. Given its rural setting in west central Georgia, it is rather amazing that it would be the home of the 39th President of the United States, Jimmy Carter. We were able to walk around the farm where he grew up and visit Plains High School, which he attended. Most of the town hasn't changed a bit since his boyhood. After high school he attended the Naval Academy and graduated from there in 1946. ...

And so, after the drive from Chattanooga, TN Ible and I made the short and traffic filled drive to Warner Robins, GA where we planned to stay with her parents for the next several weeks.
It has been a fun and relaxing time since we have arrived here. I have been learning many new things about this part of the country (mostly about food and how to prepare certain dishes. Ible's mother is a wonderful ...

The Favourite Part of This Trip

We left Miller Lane in the dark in a temperature of about 8 degrees. Little did we know we would see 25+ before the end of the day. This was one of the more pleasant trips through Cincinnati. We stopped for fuel before we got downtown and anticipated an easy Saturday drive instead of rush hour. However, the construction was still incomplete and it was tight towing a trailer on the narrowed lanes.

    Kentucky and Tennessee are ...
