... surrounding village looked like it was an affluent area with lots of red painted wooden houses with terraces set around a lovely lake with a fountain. It really was too hot to do anything else so we headed back to the digs and I am currently sat in the garden with a coffee. Off out tonight to a local hostelry for a beer (only £4 a pint) and some food. All in all a quiet day. Another big riding day tomorrow I believe so early night for me later Catch you all ...

Today was always going to be a long one with about 300 miles and a 3 and a half hour ferry crossing so we rose early 5 am actually and were ready to leave for 6 ish to head over to fredrickhavn to catch the ferry to Gutenberg (pronounced gothenberg) in sweden. At 6am in Denmark today it was 17 degrees and we were in full bike gear - it was going to be a hot day. We arrived just in time to get on the ferry with ...

    Swedish Midsummer

The best start to the day with an amazing breakfast spread of freshly made smoothies, juice, yoghurt, berries, meats, eggs, cheese, strong coffee and long conversation. There is a huge emphasis on organic produce in Sweden.

... technically once in a lifetime experience I agreed to go swimming in the lake just before midnight (pre and post sauna was required)!!.. The video footage says it all, it was pretty cold!!

Some more wine later and we decided that we needed to find the source of some music, a party, and to find me a Swedish man to keep me here in Sweden ;) A few middle aged men drinking, we kept walking past and went to bed..

Sweden; 5 years in the making!

A travel blog entry by larissajcroom on Jun 19, 2014

    ... had a nice chat to a
girl in a cafe in the airport whilst waiting for my train. I was so
grateful that the Swedes know how to make good strong coffee!!

It had been cheaper to buy a non flexible first class ticket than the
standard so I ended up in a little room on the train with three others,
very comfortable until the baby soiled it's nappy! The views were
stunning, so green and very similar to Germany and Canada with the ...
