    ... a couple of other people as well who we got along with really well.

    About 2 hours later, the room we were in was full and all the people seemed to be Australian except for Dina and I. From there I had probably one of the best nights of my life. Just really good people and Lagos is really fun. There are so many incredible bars and places and the people we had met were a great deal of fun.

    Maybe too much fun which had us back at the hostel by 5 am. Unfortunately ...

    ... seem to speak some English, but they are delighted when do don't have to - RESPECT! Yay Kate! Very warm welcomes and huge smiles seem to be the default attitude here. Although it's hot - about 30 degrees each day we were here - the city has thousands of trees and gorgeous shady squares where the temperature drops by 10 degrees and a refreshing breeze cools the happy flaneur at every turn ....oh joy and rapture ...

    ... about a 30 minute walk we found ourselves at the Praia do Camilo which is a world famous beach.

    On the way we found a nice little shop to get a few ciders for the hot walk. Once we arrived the golden sands were stunning and it had a uniquely african feel to it from the surrounding rock formations in the cliffs.

    ... up on the weather and left). We make it as far a Faro (about 15 miles), when Kathleen decides she has had enough. I must admit, it is very windy, I do not think I have been on a motorcycle in such high winds. We turn around and return to Quateira.
    Something tells me the scooter is not going to be a success.

    ... tried one more time to accelerate and to my horror, Bessie shot up the hill like a " bat out of hell" narrowly missing sideswiping a row of parked cars. Barb and our young man stood riveted to the sidewalk and exclaimed " well she's gone!" OK at this point deodorant was non existent. I managed to pull into an area up the hill and our young man got into Bessie turned her around and felt there was no issue but try going around the block. We headed out, praying ...
