Convenience and good service - just too hot.

This hotel is so convenient to the train station, you won't need a taxi - the station entrance is on the other side of the road on the corner. And yet for such a busy area, the hotel was wonderfully quiet at night. Wonderful, friendly staff. Clean but basic accommodation. Modern, updated bathrooms. Only issue is the central heating is turned up too high. I had to sleep with the window open, even though the nights were below zero. This was a common occurrence everywhere in Europe.

Arrived on Monday morning the hotel was quite warm as it was a beautiful day. They were renovating the rooms but I think I got one that hadn't been done yet. Very clean and well presented if a little tired.

    Race Day

... 5 Team Le Good supporters were the only ones on the bus, but the driver wouldn't except payment and directed us to the on board machine which only took coins, of which we had only a few.The driver really didn't seem that bothered but eventually we found enough coins to buy 5 tickets costing 3 Swiss franc when we should have paid 10 francs each, so that was a good deal. We arrived by 11.30 the bus journey quite long and tiresome but better than ...

Graham had to register and do a team photo this morning, so I opted to stay in the village. I wandered to the supermarket and explored shopping Mall which was part of a huge swimming pool complex which looked very exciting. I couldn't buy too much as I had to carry it up the hill so I had to wait for Graham to come back with the car to do a beer and wine shop. The family were arriving tonight and expected the fridge to ...

    Heat wave in Geneva

... down to my bathing suit while I ran and I jumped in. It was incredibly refreshing! It was nice and deep so you could actually swim. Whoever invented this deserves a big gold star. No one else came in so I got out quickly so we could continue on to the beach. Before stopping at the beach we took a cute little water taxi across then visited the famous fountain on the lake. The mist was very refreshing and rainbows were easily spotted. We then found some shade on the beach and ...

... loaded everything they got ready to assemble the crib for us. They asked where the screws were for the crib. I said I didn't know movers packed it. This is when I discovered they didn't speak very much English. Until now we hadn't spoken much to either for me to discover this. So I said ok hmmm French? They shook their head and said German. What the heck German what do I do with that? I tried to explain I didn't know where that stuff was because the movers dealt with all ...

... their is another line to buy tickets. Basically he said for a little more we could skip the line, have a tour and get entrance into the Roman Forum and Palatine with the one ticket. There was a small group of people already waiting to do this and the guy had a badge thing so we thought it was legitimate and we both didn't really feel like waiting an hour and half. So we paid him and waiting with the others. He said the tour would start in about 5 minutes. After about 10 minutes ...
