Convenience and good service - just too hot.

This hotel is so convenient to the train station, you won't need a taxi - the station entrance is on the other side of the road on the corner. And yet for such a busy area, the hotel was wonderfully quiet at night. Wonderful, friendly staff. Clean but basic accommodation. Modern, updated bathrooms. Only issue is the central heating is turned up too high. I had to sleep with the window open, even though the nights were below zero. This was a common occurrence everywhere in Europe.

Arrived on Monday morning the hotel was quite warm as it was a beautiful day. They were renovating the rooms but I think I got one that hadn't been done yet. Very clean and well presented if a little tired.

On Saturday I took it easy and just went to the Museum of Art and History, which had an extensive archaeology exhibit (which I loved), and then treated myself to un pain au chocolat, my first since being here!

Luckily, I had a chance to redeem myself by going to Annecy, France for the afternoon. This is a super cute town about an hour away (by bus) that is particularly famous for its Vieille Ville (old city). The lake is also extremely beautiful (apparently they filter it) and is surrounded ...

Saturday evening I had made plans to meet up with my new friends from last Sunday at Charly O’Neill’s to watch the Real Madrid vs. Barcelona futbol game. After a while two more young American ladies who are currently living in Geneva joined us. They are finishing their studies here and ...

Finally, around 3:00 I made my way back to the room, finding Joe just waking up. Feeling better, he was game to venture outside. Back to the lake we went, eventually finding another peaceful place to sit and take in the view. After the long nap he felt almost 100%--good news!

We found a wonderful outdoor restaurant overlooking the lake and got a table beside the ...

Luckily the manager at the hotel we were going to stay at told us to go toward this other town.
