    ... silent for 23 hours a day in solitude in their room. They also produce this 90% proof liqueur that we tried at dinner. In their chapel there were angels faces carved into the seats and underneath the seats when lifted up show the different devil faces.     ... This exchange had been observed by the (very) old ladies on their balconies and doorways, and as we headed up the mountain, were happy to greet us.     ... As usual, the fortress had been modified, and some of the earlier foundations were still visible. Due to its shape and location, it had been used in an Italian film. All information relating to this was, needless to say, only in Italian. Obviously a popular location for school excursions, as there was one group touring le Castella, while another group was on a boat cruising the shoreline......all long lost family!!
