Great town. It is my favourite Italian town so far. The others prefer Florence to Bologna but not me. I like the wide streets and bigger shops. The people are very chic and stylish and very friendly. They love their dogs and there are plenty of dogs of all types and sizes wandering around. Surprisingly, not that much doggy dos. Either the Bog Dogs are constipated or there is a doggy do fairy running around with a bag because I don't see many ...

The really cute thing was the Nativity Scene (Presep as they are called here) where all the figures were fashioned with wine corks and caps. We broke for coffee and croissants before finishing our round of the city at the church of ...

... palazzi, churches galore, old style shops, and miles of covered arcades, all with a unique appearance. The predominant colour is the warm brown typical of northern Italy - another thing Joy swoons over!

Eventually we met up at the gallery again, and having freshened up with a glass of wine and a rest in the hotel, went out to look for dinner. By chance we found another "Rosarose", and couldn't beleive our luck. ...

... 1990, so I was really looking forward to driving along the coast.

It was a brilliant driving road, some of the best driving of the trip. The SS 12 was narrow without much traffic, and the low afternoon sun seemed to be perfect lighting. The road runs up and down small mountains, or large hills and offers a great view of the surrounding valleys. Small villages dotted the side of the road with beautiful Italian stone houses and I met a lot of ...
