Sri Mookambika Farm, Vajamangla, Near Varuna Village Mysore, Karnataka, India, 570 004, 821-252-2202
... waded through security. The amphitheatre was packed with several thousand people outside and in a two-tiered building designed like an upper balcony in an opera house.

The press section was down in front, just behind the cameras and crew that obscured the view of the stage, a circular and mosaic-tiled dais set with tasteful wooden furniture, a lectern and backdrop panoramic photo of the GEC. There was no sign of Sonia so I amused myself taking pictures of the crowd and ...
Mysore, Karnātaka, India darkstar... on coracles, nowadays row boats do the job – safer perhaps in view of the 100+ resident crocs! We rented a private boat for a most reasonable Rs 250/- per half hour and extended the ride to an hour. Our experienced boatman proudly educated us about the life cycles, breeding habits etc. of the numerous birds, as well as about the local ecology. The birds and crocodiles are used to the presence of humans and obligingly pose for photographs. Fortunately ...
Ranganathittu Bird Sanctuary, Karnātaka, India indianature... 75p. That included an on-site 'bar' (a fridge), plus the hammocks. So we went to the hammocks, ordered some chai, and read with a view of the temple and river whilst the room was prepared. The next thing I know i'm be woken up as the room is ready. Back to the hammocks straight away though. Jo's flip flops had unfortunately broken so we decided to go search for some more. As much as she like the idea of being at one with nature and walking ...
Hampi, Karnataka, India weatheritt... Bollywood movie last night which was basically a Mumbai version of the musical/movie "The Producers" (even though it wasn't in English we got the gist). Recall in The Producers, the expected to make big bucks by scamming investors into thinking they would produce a hit but make it a flop, and they used a Pro-Nazi theme to do it, which through a turn of events didn't work out that way. In this one, Pakistan was supposed to ...
Mysore, Karnataka, India kelmiller... br>
It's not the end it's the beginning of something else amazing.

Our venturers and project managers have grown together over the last 70 days in so many ways. Part of their journey has been to open their eyes to what it is possible to achieve when like-minded people with a common purpose pull together as a dynamic team - a team full of driven and motivated young people passionate to make a difference to our world.

People with the courage and ...
Mysore, Karnataka, India hamishroberts... sorts but it is mainly fruit and veg, oils and incenses for religious and therapeutic uses, and all sorts of other stuff. Of particular note is the piles of Kumkum, which is the coloured powder you mix with hot water used for making the Hindi spots on foreheads, and for ceremony's and painting and any other use really. Its all natural stuff made from trees and beetles I expect, I did ask but have now forgotten that info I'm afraid. The whole place was very ...
Mysore, Karnataka, India awfullookAfter a very bumpy and crowded bus ride which ended up taking annoying 5 hours instead of 3, we arrived in Mysore. Nathan couldn't move since he had to stand in the bus and I couldn't see since I was blinded from the dust. Mysore is great city with a beautiful palace, a great market (Devaraja Market) and some world class yoga. We only stayed 1.5 days but I did squeeze in a class of Ashtanga yoga at Mandala Yogashala school (thanks Chris & ...
Mysore, India losbrowns... with the guy running the toilet complex there as he was unbelievably enthusiastic in unnecessarily helping me to do things, like carry ,y bag, wash my feet etc. If they used toilet paper here in India I'm sure he'd have insisted he wiped for me! Contrary to this, the security guard there was rather intrusive and i found I'm curiously fumbling through my belongings in my bag when i left the toilets. The rest of the main sites were on the other ...
Srirangapatnam, India benabroad... I'm writing this final entry is to just kind of wrap things up and show a few random pictures. There is a picture of the Mysore campus from the sky, and you can see the layout of all of the hostels, a few food courts, and our "employee center," where we had our pool, grocery store, etc. I marked where I lived, and take a close look at all the buildings. The ...
Mysore, India ruthbarz... luck for us. We left right after our boat ride and didn't check out the rest of the sanctuary... Crocodiles were enough for us. It was on to the gardens for the light show. To be honest, it was definitely a place I could have done without. I don't know why its a big tourist spot, because it just wasn't very impressive! There was garbage all over and there was nothing there that I hadn't seen before ...
