... turns out this will be the only hiking day with bug issues] However, we do have quite a feeling of accomplishment and did see may cool things along the way. We were barked at by many shepherd dogs guarding a large flock, and were followed for a short while by some very cute donkeys that Zach was sure were going to kick us! We saw horses too, and thousands of butterflies. The views were stunning for sure. All I want now is a shower and dinner ...

... a bit sceptical about the cycle route into Nice once we get that far. The printed flyer that the proprietor shows us seems to show a gravel track.

The first 5 km of climbing is straightforward and we stop for the obligatory photo in front of the Col sign - for the first time having to make do with a selfie as we are the only people at the top.

The descent is much better than I'd imagined. I'd surreptitiously googled the gorge route and ...

... t know” “Where do you go today?” “Dont know” “But how long you travel for?” “18 months and have 3 years to go. After Europe for the next 5 months, we will go to USA and Canada” “And you go on the Tenere?, zis iz very impressive” The inference is clear. There’s 7 of them and they are wearing the branded beautiful BMW and Ducati apparel, the bikes are clean and they have no luggage. Time for them to ...
