A great place to recover from jet lag and walk along the river to the old town.

Long day of travelling today. Set off around 10. Travelled thru Belgium & the Netherlands before arriving in Germany. Only 3 stops required ('mum I need a wee, dad I need a poo, We're HUNGRY!!'). Went out for tea at the campsite across the roads' restaurant and got soaked in a thunder storm. Looking forward to a busy day at Playmobile land tomorrow. Fingers crossed for better weather ☀ ...

... on the walking tour was the Alte Oper, an opera house on the edge of downtown. It also marks the start of the Fressgass (Eat Street), which is home to many cafes and restaurants. At the end of the Fressgass is the Börse (not Böse), which has a statue of a bull and bear to represent the rises and falls of the stock prices. There is even an Australian bar around the corner! Very multicultural indeed...

I thanked her and asked why I had been given that privilege . She ...

In Frankfort very little of note. We had to walk forever to get to our gate but we had plenty of time. Left about 45 minutes late but made it up. This flight was 5 hours so this time I watched a movie and slept just a little. Another decent meal. The screen shot photos proved we weren't in Kansas any more. When the plane landed out came the scarves. Waited forever for luggage. All in all the 22 hours it took to get here went by ...

Frankfurt is commonly referred to as the Financial capital of Europe, due to the EU Currency Exchange being located there, and this tends to overshadow and deter visitors as the rich history and traditions can easily be overshadowed. Including the metropolitan area and the inner suburbs, Frankfurt is the second largest city in Germany and was one of the front runners for being the new capital after the Second War, as they refer to it here. We were fortunate enough to have friends ...
