Small room, but value for money in this good location. It's awkward being on different floors of a multi-use building, but ultimately manageable

... brain thinks. But I am no longer utterly flabbergasted by words such as "Landesgerichtsstraße" or "Schwartzenbergplatz". And I certainly don't confuse "Wien" with "Wein", either in pronunciation or meaning. (One is the city, the other is what we drink.)

I'm getting used to not having the over-sized or quantity of appliances I had in the USA. Having a grocery store a block away means that I don't have to stock a month's worth of food in the pantry or refrigerator. ...

Known for it's homemade wines, we stopped into a cozy cafe to have some wine and cheese. Vienna is ultimately a place to visit in the summer because of each palace's beautiful gardens, but we had a lot of fun and really enjoyed the show.

... and very artsy, but it was still raining so I didn't stay for long. After that I grabbed a coffee at a local bistro and then headed back to the airport!

Once I arrived (and since I already had my boarding pass) I was able to find a spot to charge my phone so that I could find my way once I arrived in Israel. I was also able to chat with Sara for a bit, and it was very nice catching up with her!!!

Today we decided to have Bob's belated birthday dinner. Our choice of restaurant was the Cafe in the Danube Tower. This gave us the opportunity to have great views overlooking all Vienna in a rotating restaurant, while enjoying a very delicious dinner with great desserts, at quite a reasonable price. The Danube Tower is in a large urban island park (Donaupark) which adjoins the Vienna International Centre and the Austria Centre. The ...

... one girl who was sitting forlornly on a marble rail, seeming just as annoyed with the situation as me.

I spent the next couple of days determined to stop feeling sorry for myself and walked through the city in a better frame of mind. I tried to get a feel for how the locals live and work by eating schnitzels and drinking hearty weissbier for lunch, and sipping coffee at bars in the mornings. But to be honest, there were hardly any locals about. Mostly ...
