Small room, but value for money in this good location. It's awkward being on different floors of a multi-use building, but ultimately manageable

I'm always intrigued by the safe found in some hotels rooms. I guess I like to think I have something so valuable it requires such a security measure. In Prague, I decided that 'something' was my passport. True to its name, the safe provided my passport with a comfortable stay void of any theft or shena****ns of any sort. So comfortable, in fact, that it decided to spend some extra time in Prague despite our departure to Vienna. I'm sending it a one-way, express ticket to ...

Sorry for the corny title, couldn't resist. Not going to lie, that song was the reason I looked in to Vienna about a year ago and decided to go there! It's been a long day, and even more so because I'm sick with the worst cold. I tried sleeping on the bus from Zurich but I had someone sitting beside me for part of the drive which made sleeping a little more difficult. I am getting better at sleeping in random places though haha. About half way ...

At a number of the sites that I had visited in Krakow and Prague, the name Habsburg would pop up quite frequently. They were the ruling family of the Holy-Roman Empire, and later the Austrian Empire. Their rule lasted for 6 centuries, which is why the name has a place in the history of all of these Eastern European countries. Vienna was the home of the Habsburgs, and so my first inclination was to visit the palace and learn a bit more about the family.

... Felix and some friends took me to a poetry slam. A German poetry slam. Not a word of English was spoken during the 90 minutes of performances. Although it got a little boring for me after a while, it was still a cool experience to be out of your linguistic comfort zone like that. It's an odd feeling when the 99 people sitting around you all laugh at a certain point, and you have no idea what the poet (slam-poet?) said to make them laugh. Afterwards, we went to ...
