I was a little bummed (only a little) that I would miss most of the Fall season in Atlanta - it's my favorite. When I arrived in Innsbruck it quickly turned my frown upside down. The leaves are changing colors, and with the mountains in the background and the nip in the air - Austria makes for a perfect Fall experience.
Innsbruck is very quaint, and there are mountains peaking ...

We parked the car, walked around, walked up to the Swarovski viewing area and had a look for food but it wasnt that appetising, so after a visit we headed back off...and down the pass. It was around 3pm by the time we hit Winkel, where we decided food must had and stopped at a Cafe for a pizza, which was pretty yummy! The ...

After the hike, the bus dropped us off in
town and since it was still relatively early I decided to take the gondola that
goes from the middle of the city up to the top of one of the ski resorts. The
summit (around 10,000 feet) had a nice bar where I had a beer while looking
down at the city. I noticed tons of ...
... br>The only way to see the castle was by an organized tour, so we had to wait up at the top for awhile until our tour time-the views were more than enough to keep us occupied. The tour itself was a bit overwhelming-there were about 50 people and our tour guide had a very strong accent and was hard to hear, but at least we could see the inside of the castle, which was amazing. Ludwig had an obsession with swans and they were all ...
Füssen, Bavaria, Germany armajor7A museum mom and I had been anxious to visit while in Austria, Swarovski Crystal Worlds was our next stop on route. Visitors enter the "museum" under a curtain of water spewing forth from a giant's head. Once inside, there are a series of rooms with low lighting and unique displays, all involving crystals of course. The first room has a beautiful (fake) horse dressed in crystal studded tack ...
Wattens, Tyrol, Austria travelingdiva... been cleared and there was a wrapped set of cutlery that they left behind when clearing the table, and he got stuck with this one. The waitress refused to give him a new set. It was a bit strange as it would cost her nothing but 5 seconds to get him a new one and make him so much more comfortable eating his meal. He took the risk and hoped that the cutlery hadn't been played with by the previous occupants of our table.
It was time to move on so we piled into the car and ...

When we walk up we come to a spot where there are lounge chairs set out in the grass. We go and sit down. It feels so good to lie there in the sun. I’m thinking I could just spend a couple of hours here relaxing. But no, up and off we go. After going up for about 15 or 20 ...

second highest mountain in germany. The weather for today was
questionable... when we were driving by the bottom of the mountain
that we were going to the top of, the top of the mountain was clear
so we hoped on the cable car and headed to the top. By the time we

still had a good time. The top of ...

When I arrived I watched the talks from the back of the auditorium, and spent sometime doing a little work when I was bored. The final talks were surprisingly interesting and I found a group that was working on a similar topic to my own and was able to catch a trapped dislocation in a grain structure in real time, or at least what they thought to ...
