Last night we arrived in Innsbruck in the early evening. This allowed for some time to find a hotel and walk into the centre of town to find some dinner. We came across a family restaurant, Weinerwald, where we had a family platter with more than enough food and a bottle to share, all for a very reasonable price. The food was really good too!
... the church. WOW! These village people knew how to decorate a church. It's 300 years old Beautiful wooden pews...light in colour though And stunning paintings on all the walls and dome. Then, the driver offers us all a schnapps to help take the chill out of the morning. It did that all right. Went down a treat. The lady from the milk bar joined us under the trees and we all chatted away. Like pulling up at the Narre North store 40 years ago. Back in the cart again ...
well all my blog has disappeared for this day and don't think I have the energy to rewrite it !!! So real quick ... Left Innsbruck early after breakfast. Stopped for lunch in Liechtenstein.. A rather disappointing stop as was all fairly modern ...

... to what we have seen before. Lots of tramping shops and outdoor clothes for winter !!! It already feels like winter to me. After lunch it's up around and up, up, up bus tunnels and elevator 1,834m meters up to what's now known as " the Eagles Nest". It was constructed over 12 months and presented to Hitler for his 50th birthday. It was pretty cold and misty but we got occasional glimpses of the the lake and city of Salzburg below. Amazing ...
