Mont Saint Michel is an abbey in…the middle of nowhere, Normandy! When the tide is high, the water rises all around it, only keeping a thin road that leads down the middle (the place is filled with warnings about being aware of the tides). Once we arrived, we walked on the beach around the perimeter of the abbey. Then we went to the very top …

... and took the time for a walk around while there. Arriving at Mont Saint Michel is interesting. For some reason, I thought there was a village on the shore opposite the island. There isn't what is there is a giant car park, some hotels, an information centre and shuttle buses to take people to the island which is about 3kms away. ... been an important pilgrimage center since 708 A.D. when the bishop of Avranches heard the voice of the Archangel Michael saying basically "If you build it ...they will come." Much of the 1200 years of history was lost during World War II when its archives were taken to St-Lo for safe keeping, only to be destroyed in the D-Day fighting. This is also a UNESCO world heritage site.  We had lunch together, said our goodbyes to Celine's parents and Valentin, and ...

... think it is a great idea.

After finally getting back on the road we ended up in the middle of a remote forrest and arrived at the fun park. We knew we were in for a crowd free day when we saw only 7other cars in the car park. We then spent the next 6 hrs running amok on all the rides in the park such as roller coasters, luge's, jumping castles, bumper boats, mini golf, laser tag and huge water slides.
