... a pair of boots. We spent the evening with Erika, chatting and watching TV, and I surfed the net looking for ski work.
Again, I slept forever (maybe it’s the Swiss air?)and Megg Skyped home. Erika cooked us a really yum lunch - fish with potatoes and spinach. Erika used to work at the Basel Zoo and had some free passes, so the three of us went and spent the afternoon there. After that we all went to my Uncle Rolf and Aunty Doris’ for a drink ...
... the gift shop, we went to the pedestrian area and I searched for gnocchi. I did not find gnocchi on any menus but I did find an Alsatian restaurant, so we all had flammkuechen and a refreshing Swiss wheat beer (mom opted for the Swiss wine).
We didn't stay out too late because tomorrow my vacation starts and we are getting up somewhat early to begin our road trip across Austria, which I am really looking forward to!

Most of the way you didn't really have to walk as you got pulled along in the current of bodies. We eventually got to the square next to the church where there was a little more room to maneuver and delicious food to sample. We checked out all the little African shops and stopped to watch cooking displays and mini dance routines.

We of course went straight for the large Roman theatre and then walked over to other nearby sites, including the temple facing the theatre, the main marketplace and town hall, a bakery, and the very interesting well house and bath house where you can go down into the well and look out to the bright sky high above.
All the walking combined with the heat had us pretty wiped out so we headed back to ...
... stores as far as New Zealand.
Even more surprisingly though was to find the presence of a seemingly much smaller country like Romania. Hard to believe but we listened to Romanian music at a café on Easter Island ("Dragostea din tei" that launched the Numa Numa internet phenomenon) and seen Romanian-made Dacia Logan cars as far as Tahiti or Argentina. However, more relevant to you, potential travelers, was the fact that ...
... between France and Germany, and again my mom booked our hotel in France (I guess hotel rooms are cheap in France). So the Basel Tram does not go into France, so we had to get off the Tram and them walk 500 meters (0.3 of a mile) to our hotel with all of our bags. Just think we had to do this every time we wanted to leave our hotel. So to make a story short ...
