WE spent an enjoyable time wandering about the cathedral. Its big, beautiful, cool inside, and has some amazing stained glass windows. There were pews to sit on and pray, and some people were praying on their knees, most people however were using this time as free sit down space in a cool shady place (it was 34 degrees outside). One lady was eating her lunch at the pews, another was breastfeeding a baby.

Day 9 Thursday, May 21 2015 Cremona to Milan

The plan for the day was to go to Milan to the Duomo and La Scala – both accomplished.

We had a slow start, so we caught the 11:30 train to Milano Centrale at which point we transferred to Milan's fabulous Metro for a quick ride to the Duomo (Cathedral). Milan has four Metro lines – each color-coded ...

We finish our wonderful trip to Italy by heading north to Milano, Italy's business & fashion centre. The city has a more northern European city feel to it, more business-like & energetic. As travel guru Rick Steves aptly describes; Milanese feel that Romans and others further south are lazy & sponge off the hard work of northern Italians. Conversely Romans think Milanese are uptight, work too hard & don't enjoy life enough.

    We enjoy an afternoon ...
