Smells like Cologne

Inside the cathedral is amazing..the height of it's ceiling is amazing.. the organ pipes up so high would create such a presence. The stain glass windows are brilliant.. so many different designs telling their own part of history.

No more cakes for Del
A bit of a change of pace for our blog entries this time. For those of you who do not know, one week prior to leaving on our trip Del was diagnosed as having Celiac Disease. This means a gluton free diet forever. It is more than a mere fad diet or an intolerance - it must become a way of life.

Dusseldorf to Hamburg.

We head to Hamburg today, where we will spend the next three days. Having bought a rail pass to get us through the first two months of our travels, we will again experience the comfort of the European train system. Our rail pass covers us for ten days travel within that time period throughout the bordering countries of Germany, Austria and Italy. We have planned for this to get us well into southern Italy by the end of January.
