    ... drink, feeding or errand. We got lunch at a nice Thai cafe, which only seemed appropriate since we originally met in Southeast Asia. Dusseldorf is a nice town, big enough to be cosmopolitan, yet small enough to be manageable, and has both modern amenities and old world charm. It also is fairly pretty at the ground level with the river running through it and thousands of trees everywhere.

    ... same church. The audio commentary that we had of the cathedral paintings talked about how the painters developed and adapted their style to the conditions by doing the same painting repeatedly.

    Did our own self guided walking tour of the historic area. Past fountains, statues and majestic buildings, through ancient market squares, quirky streets, churches and the town hall, and into a brewery pub or two.

    Came across the equestrian statue of the Prussian King, Friedrich Wilhelm III of Ehrenbreitstein Fortress fame.

    Today we slept in and took our time. It was our lazy day.

    We got up and had some breakfast. We ordered a beehive pastry and a quiche to share.
