... the road into Lindau, I spotted our hotel.
After checking in I waited in the Beer Garden for Les and Gilly and they eventually turned up 30 minutes later as the heavens opened up with a big down pour!
As the hotel appeared to have a nice restaurant and bar we decided to spend the evening there and we weren't disappointed with the steak that we ordered!

... 11th century Castle which is the oldest structurally sound in Germany, and other old half timbered buildings. From the view point you can see ferries crossing and cruising the lake and we can just make out the Alps in the distance. When the weather us good you should be able to see the snowy peaks! cheese and wine.
On arrival we were shown up to our own private dining room
for a very fancy lunch. Corinne’s brother and his wife, Urs and Regula,
serenaded both Corinne and Grandfather, whilst other relatives recited home
written poems about the two of them. All very formal and all very in German. A
three course meal later we all said our good byes and headed on our separate

Guess what, the ferry had the same problem and they
suggested that we jump off at the next stop and buy tickets there. Cool idea…..
So we settled down and ordered drinks and lunch.
The next stop arrived and Corinne jumped off to buy tickets.
Guess what……same problem, still unable to buy ...
The first hour of the drive from Lauterbrunen northwest to Austria was very interesting with farms and pretty towns and even a Swiss horn player practising on the roadside on a mountain pass but once we got closer to the big cities of Lucerne and Zurich we stuck to the motorways. There wasn’t much to see other than huge industrial sites and the insides of tunnels. The Swiss sure do tunnels well. We must have done 40 plus in the two days we drove through Switzerland. ...
