... the dreaded (inevitable) prickly heat. I'm amazed I've avoided it this long actually but we've not had more than a few consecutive hot days and it's usually day 7ish of a hot holiday it kicks in. So I'm permanently confined to shade; even a 20m walk to the shower block flares it up and the only clothes we've got to cover completely are fleeces! I had four showers! On top of that, we're both being eaten alive despite all the usual preventative measures (candles, ...

We sat outside in the pleasant night air talking for a while before returning to the hotel where we said our farewells before returning to our ...

... hotel - not a long hike but very pleasant. With rain just starting to fall when we got back, we decided not to go to the high ropes course that was on offer for the afternoon (it got rained out anyway). Later in the afternoon Bob did get a chance to go and visit the Biomass Water Heating facility that heated all the water for 21 properties in the valley. It was a 1 megawatt unit that used wood chips made of waste timber in the valley at a cost of 30 euros ...

We arrived at Campingpark Papiermühle, ACSI 781 (unlimited (awesome) showers, unlimited electric, allocated pitch 73 but we ended up moving to 75 as our power lead wouldn't stretch). It seems to be the thing in Germany that power boxes supply numerous pitches. We've been used to sites in most other campsites in all the countries so far having individual electric and water per pitch. It's not the end of the world, but means we ...
