... the road into Lindau, I spotted our hotel.

After checking in I waited in the Beer Garden for Les and Gilly and they eventually turned up 30 minutes later as the heavens opened up with a big down pour!

As the hotel appeared to have a nice restaurant and bar we decided to spend the evening there and we weren't disappointed with the steak that we ordered!

three course meal later we all said our good byes and headed on our separate
    ways.

... br> And so the suggestion was that we buy the ticket on the
    ferry.

Guess what, the ferry had the same problem and they
suggested that we jump off at the next stop and buy tickets there. Cool idea…..
So we settled down and ordered drinks and lunch.

The next stop arrived and Corinne jumped off to buy tickets.

The first hour of the drive from Lauterbrunen northwest to Austria was very interesting with farms and pretty towns and even a Swiss horn player practising on the roadside on a mountain pass but once we got closer to the big cities of Lucerne and Zurich we stuck to the motorways. There wasn’t much to see other than huge industrial sites and the insides of tunnels. The Swiss sure do tunnels well. We must have done 40 plus in the two days we drove through Switzerland. ...
