... is very busy. We reach the Alps after a couple of hours of concentrated riding and decide to get off the autostrada for a bowl of soup and an apfelschorle. We head for Tramin, a lovely little South Tyrollean village tucked in under one of the massive Dolomite peaks. The valley below is full of apple orchards and the slopes above thick with vines. So, we threw some dinner together and ...

We rode through the Adige River Valley between two massive dolomite mountain ranges carved by glaciers. Apples, pears, grapes also lined our journey. It was like a picture postcard all the wary, hard to take your eyes off it and easier to keep riding 70kms. The cycle path was flat and long in places and we stopped ...

Today we rode mostly along the shore line of Garda Lake. It was a wonderful ride of about 70 kilometers. I have included some pictures, but the most impactful event occurred over dinner. As we ate in a lakeside pizzeria, another couple got up to leave. She could barely walk, apparently disabled by MS. With a smile on her face and two walking canes that attached to her arms she struggled out of the restaurant, literally dragging each foot one at a time. Then the ...
