Day 11, Sunday September 2 …
... safely and were settled in, to use it as a base for a week’s holiday. They’d kindly sent some photos of the garden etc and again, we felt slightly homesick! Speaking of garden, I am delighted to report that John Crossley is now recovering well and indeed, may call in on the house tomorrow or maybe today to harvest some of his vegetables. It is such great news that he is doing well, we are so relieved.

... and was surprised to find Doug asleep in bed. Once we were showered and dressed we went to the Da Vinci dining room for breakfast. Our poor waiter was run off his feet with a largish table barking orders for butter or jam etc and a trio who seemed to order dish after dish … where do they put it and why are they skinny? I don't get it.
We had cereal, oats, fruit and both had eggs Florentine today .. very nice. ...
After bedding down next to a path by a bird sanctuary, I awake to continue down the coast to the ferry. I replace my first tyre, and notice that my rugged offroad tyres now resemble racing superslicks.The weather has cleared up, I make camp about 14k from the Ebeltoft ferry in some woods. In other news, I have begun talking to my bicycle. I have named him 'squeak'. I buy some chain lube to shut him up.
The bright sun greeted us early in the morning as we headed out to Ebeltoft, but before we reached our destination, we stopped at the Trampolt Danish Museum of art and furniture. The museum design was
great, but not as beautiful as the plot of land it sits on. The
structure sprawls out over rolling green hills that slope down to a
