... was huge. Who eats half a head of raw cabbage with a meal? We headed back to our hostel and relaxed for a bit, before heading out to experience the Viennese nightlife.. We had a couple of beers at a few local bars, but was quite surprised as to how dead the places were.. The local Brau ( brewery ) was somewhat busier and we had a stop in there, but ended up at a place with more atmosphere and of course this was an Irish pub. We didn't stay long as the the bloody smoke is a ...

... a few photos up. Dinner was delicious and they even had a Sacher torte for Judy and I for our birthdays ( and one for Diane who's birthday it was yesterday). Great fun night!! Next stop was a classic concert for some of us. Sandra chose to come with me and we weren't disappointed. What a way to spend my birthday.......a most memorable ...

... end of the day featured a tour of Vatican City, something I was looking forward to very much. Although I'm not a religious person by any means it was really breathtaking looking up at the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel, walking the halls full of sculptures and walking around the enormous St. Peter's Basilica. That night we had a white t-shirt and sharpie party on the campsite, and good times were had by all. From Rome we had to backtrack a little bit to Florence ...

... up on our sleep. We’d gotten an overnight train that took nearly 12 hours to get to Vienna, and it was too hot and too crowded. Next time I get an overnight train I’m paying for a bed. The hostel was really nice too, breakfast was amazing and the beds we so comfy.

We then spent the afternoon exploring around our hostel, which was a really good one, though nothing like the one in Florence. After lunch, we then decided that we’d go to some of the ...
