    ... cathedral in Bologna and it dedicated to the patron saint of the city. The facade is only partly finished because they have never been able to get agreement on what it should look like. It was begun in 1390. It was free to get into but 2 Euro to take photos and another 5 if you wanted to get into the chapel decorated by Giovanni da Modena. I paid for the photos but not the chapel.     We caught the train from Bologna to Rimini for the day. We were met by Federica Farnetti, from the University of Bologna, who John had met on a work trip to the area in 2013. Federica was looking very pregnant and is due to have a baby daughter, Carlotta, on 12 August.
