Although we dreamt and planned a lot for this journey, we never thought about the last part.
Waiting between our last two planes, we still have one question:How do you end such an overwhelming adventure before getting back to the real world of bills, plumbing problems and work but also friends, family, weekends and summerbars? I guess by putting the best pics on your screensaver and planning the next one :-)?.

It is 5:38 pm Italy time... how do I know this???... because our plane has actually landed in Italy. It's a miracle!!! The drive from our hotel is 40 minutes. Dylan had the ox cheeks and I had the veal schnitzel. Very nice to enjoy with our beers. After lunch we went for a walk through the university/brewery gardens and had a nap ...

... can really enjoy myself... Well maybe not, as its a longish flight. (Postscript - got the credit card bill for failing to fill the tank - looks like about $180 to fill the tank and a $100. One way fee! Outrageous). Well i guess its time to sum up the trip overall. Enjoyable, memorable, learnt a lot about myself ( D) . Highlights for me were Gornergrat, Sion, Mt Pilatus, the Rhine boat trip , Eiffel Tower, the Pont Du Gard, old town of Uzes, the TGV, the autobahns, lake Como, lake ...

... was my first transatlantic journey. Shortly thereafter, Fred asked me if i wanted to go for a quick tour of the city but he said he knew i was probably very tired (which i was). Even though i really wanted to sleep and i felt pretty disoriented with the time difference, i decided it was best for me to stay awake during the day and then comfortably pass out once its actually dark out. I had of course previously read about how to avoid jetlag and this was one ...
