i stayed with rachael for 3 nights in her student apartment but we didn't explore until sunday (started very early cause daylight savings stopped and no one told us!). lund is a little university town in the south of sweden, the uni's about 400 years old so the town is very cute! we walked out to the architecture building past some of the main uni buildings then explored the botanic gardens and the little streets around town before what turned out to be a very early lunch!<br>
Lund, Skåne, Sweden neason... min by train from lund. it is also an old city, though i didn't spent much time there and the time i did spend was in the dark. still, it's much bigger than lund, has some very nice buildings and churches and has a canal system. that night we went out for sugata's last night in sweden. like many medieval universities, the university is organised by nations. originally, the nation you joined was related to the where you actually ...
Lund, Skåne, Sweden aarondewitt... were jauntily following the mass wave of demonstrators as they made their way past our building following the Nazis to their destination - after about 2 or 3 hours of slinging insults, things on fire, and occasionally fists at one another right in front of my building. Ok, so that's all the excitment for now - look out for more sometime relatively soon though - next week I'm headed to Brussels to visit w/ my friend from Portland before she heads home.
Lund, Skåne, Sweden caroline.sage... number to get a phone 'cause it would be alot cheaper that way. I finally got the number last week and so came fully equipped and mentally prepared to walk away with a phone in my hands this afternoon. When I got there, the nice fellow told me that I also needed a Swedish ID card in order to get the discount, and that I could get one at the bank right down the street. So, I went to the bank and queued. For 45 minutes. (Queuing = taking a ...
Lund, Sweden caroline.sage... and go down to the basement computer room to print. *But first you have to go to a print shop that is only open from 10 to 2 pm Mondays thru Thursdays and fill up your print quota. *But before you can fill up your print quota, you have to go to the information desk and fill out a green form and then bring it to the print shop. *I tried to order my school books online. Amazon does not deliver to Sweden. Swedish ...

Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark banila... all these places turn into crowded tourist traps, but at the same time, I won't be as sad about going home and getting away from this. After Karla had a nap, we walked around the central area and had some excellent Chinese food. This is something that we have both been craving for a long time and though I've seen lots of sushi, Thai food, Japanese food, and other oriental food. I haven't seen a good traditional sweet-and-sour-chicken Chinese food restaurant until here. The food was ...
Copenhagen, Zealand, Denmark tbassplayer... and local riffraff, of which yours truly was a part, and decided to immerse ourselves in the Copenhagen jazz scene. We had a jolly good time riding to the Copenhagen Jazz House and while it is an expensive little venue (small weekday gigs cost around $18) it is well worth the extra mazuma, pelf and filthy lucre (these are all words meaning money, well 'dirty' money in the case of lucre, but I am so fond of them I think each should be ...
Copenhagen, Denmark lordcool... s the plaza where we meet for any field trips. Right behind that about a block are the main school buildings. Going back down I noticed one more awesome thing. They had renovated one of the original latrines halfway up the tower. Your butt can touch the exact same place as many famous Danes from way back in the day including Hans Christian Andersen, himself. Read the pamphlet I photographed to ...
Copenhagen, Denmark sarahindenmark... seemed significantly slimmer. As soon as she rose, all the other yaks abandoned their 'shielding' positions and ran to her. The tall grass prevented us from seeing what was happening to the baby. In fact, we could not see if there was one there. If the new mom was no significantly slimmer, we would not have been sure if she even gave birth. After a few minutes, the other yaks left the new mom, and went back about their business of eating grass, while the new mom was ...
