Distance today 273KM

I left Négrèville, had luck at Granville and followed to route of the bay to Mont St Michele. The journey was a pleasure compared to yesterday, although as I approached the Mont it was such a beautiful sight I kept looking at it for too long whilst riding along a very windey road.

When I arrived I parked where the other motorcycles park and got chatting to a lovely American couple ...

A (not so) Ordinary Drive Day

We drove on through the seaside to see some more of the D-Day beaches...namely Sword and Juno. Very moving and hard to imagine the bloodshed occurring on the beaches and peaceful villages. So the menu today was a mere 60 miles and we aimed to get to our destination south of Mayenne early in order to rest in ...

... not made easy by the lack of English spoken in this sleepy town. In a fast food joint, I ordered chicken nuggets but got a sort of chicken kebab instead!
The lady who ran the hotel did not speak any English but when I explained we had cycled from St.Malo she looked at us like we were mad. When we came down in the morning dressed again in cycling clothes she asked where we were going. I said Le Mans, and she simply shook her head in ...
