    ... city. It was quite close to walk from her house. So I wandered around. I saw the Sint Saartan church and all the other churches. I found a church that had been converted into a bookshop and cafe, and I loooooved it!! It still had all the gloriously huge and decorated architecture and high ceilings but with shelves of books and a little place for people to buy and eat food. I wish we had a place like this in Australia. Mainly I just walked around, I walked along the river ...

    ... phone numbers (and blood group) so we can be contacted if there are any problems with Spring Tide whilst we are away. He just got back as the heavens opened with a massive thunder and lightning storm. We then sorted out anything we want to take back and worked out a list of things we need to bring back.     ... us back into the right area, and we got the car turned in, and on the flight (after a bit of a delay).

    When we arrived in Amsterdam, we were met by Ans & Joop, and Ed. They drove us back to Ans & Joop’s place, and the whole family gathered there for dinner in the back (burgers and fries). And bier. Lots of Warsteiner bier. This was establishing a theme for the week.... :)

    ... pieces you could buy. There were also lots of different delftware shops around the city that we peaked into. They made me wish I was rich and able to afford some. Delftware, for those who don't know, is pottery painted with oxides that turn blue when they're fired in the oven. Delft has been famous for it since they started copying the Asian versions in the 17th century.
