    ... many of the residence were torn from their homes and deported to German concentration camps. Few returned. Built in 1948 this memorial will serve as a reminder for years to come.     ... at the tiny village of saint Amour. A spectacular hotel with magnificent rooms. Ours faced on to the swimming pool and was very spacious. Hotel Auberge Du Paradise. Recommended.     So I hit the road solo this afternoon, making my way over the next 2 days to Venice. It feels strange being without the wife and saying goodbye was a teary affair for both of us although, we are only apart for 2 weeks. I arrived in Bourg-en Bresse without any problems. I actually wished I was more aggressive in my driving plan because I'm sure I could have made it to Geneva quite easily.
