Wow, what a night! This evening's Michelin starred meal was Philip's birthday gift to me ... and what a present. It started from the moment we sat down when the bread tray came around, with every type of French roll ever invented on offer. I went for the smallest - a tasty wee bun with sesame and poppy seeds, lathered with the creamy, herb butter that was almost cream cheese. Then the wine waiter came and Philip settled on a delicious crisp ...
... just a 23 mile up and down. Nobody in our group wanted to do that. So we rode Lauteret again to Briancon and up Col de l'Izoard. It is a lesser known climb, but very challenging. We descended back into Briancon where burgers and beer never tasted so good. We are both very proud of what we accomplished on this trip. Mat found a rock climbing wall which he was pretty happy ...

Not only with the gas, but also troubles with the fridge and 12V powerpoints. Baguette for lunch, set up the van with electricity and went for a walk. Cold and rainy this afternoon, but still able to wander through the town of Allemont. A nice quiet rest day ...
