Left Freiburg around 10:30am for our drive to Nurnberg (Nuremberg). We were travelling on the German autobahns now, so the end of speed limit signs meant just that. We were quite happy travelling at around 140km/h (!) but occasionally wound up our little A180 to 160km/h. Even at that speed, you would see a car's headlights approaching rapidly …

... on the train and all of the scenery was beautiful!
I think we were all quite sad to leave Heidelberg because it was an absolutely beautiful city and the shopping was fab!
Tomorrow we are going on a walking tour of Nuremberg and then the Dokumentenzentrum. Finally, in the evening we are going out to dinner. I know we will be fix und fertig by the end of the day!
... for a return trip to Budapest with a new group of tourists. Darius resigned as assistant to the Program Director and turned over his umbrella. He decided that herding old people is too stressful, so we had to say goodbye to that employment opportunity. Resting up in the hotel, trying to decide where to go for dinner....so much beer....so little ...
... of the lock masters who are striking from Monday. Not sure what is going to happen to the ships now trying to get through Germany!!!
We ended a perfect day dining in the aft restaurant which seats 24- and the chef turns on quite a culinary show. Superb food. Overnight we sail to Aschach in Austria.
forgot to mention the June floods - the Danube rose to 15 metres - which means it rose 7 metres - utter devastation with slime and sludge ...
