Bienvenidos a Sevilla
The good part about our hotel was that it was decently priced, had good reviews, and was centrally located. The bad part was that every one of those reviews talked about how impossible it was to find the place. Arriving after dark in a strange city didn't seem to make it any easier. One of the popular reviews noted that taxi drivers often couldn …
First Actual Day In Spain
Before exploring Sevilla for the first time, our priorities were A. basic supplies (water, granola bars, etc.) and B. Breakfast (desayuno). I had read a review of "El Corte Engles", which was supposedly Spain's biggest department store, which sells everything from high dollar ham to designer boots. Finding the streets substantially easier to …
First Actual Day in Spain (part 2)
After browsing through the Cathedral and realizing how easy it was to make progress walking in the city, we decided to walk along the riverfront from bridge to bridge. The city is truly beautiful, with historical Andalucian buildings towering over the maze of narrow cobblestone streets, eventually giving way to broad boulevards lined with orange …
Loving Spain
He Said: We reluctantly checked out of the posh resort in Evora on Wednesday to catch a bus southward to the coastal city of Faro. From there we picked up another bus across the border to Seville, Spain finally arriving in the late afternoon. Buses in Portugal and Spain couldn't be easier. Every segment of the population rides them, the stations …
South, to Andalusia
It was an early start to catch the 0700 train to Seville Leaving the hotel at 0600, a few people were going to work, outnumbered by the drunks staggering home or perhaps to the next party – who knows.
The train was punctual, smooth, quiet, well equipped and comfortable, and arrived in Seville in just two and a half hours. But it's …

Very attractive Andalusian style building
Room comfortable and clean
Walking from the station it's a bit difficult to find
Staff friendly, but when the room was not serviced one day they were more concerned with establishing it was the fault of the guest instead of just solving the problem

Historical Traveler Reviews BEST WESTERN Cervantes Hotel -- Seville
Pleased with the Cervantes.
The Cervantes is a Best Western hotel and is up to their standards. It is a little hard to find, but once there, it is a great location. We walked everywhere with ease. Our room was large by Spanish standards and our triple was actually a small suite. We were at the back of the hotel and it was a bit noisy as we had the window open: it was unseasonably warm in Andulusia and they had not yet cranked up the A/C for the summer. The staff was extremely helpful , especially Manual Castano, when a small glitch arose in our travel plans. The hotel is a taxi ride from the train station, but so are all of the historic sites, which are a 10-15 min. walk from the Cervantes. Breakfast was not included in our stay, but there was a charming courtyard down the street with breakfast available and art students in drawing class for atmosphere. We were very pleased with our choice and would stay here again.
Okay only
We just returned from a trip to Spain and stayed two nights at the Cervantes Hotel. It is clean and new, but does not have the "charm" of other hotels in the region that are housed in very old buildings. Very "aseptic" I would say (While there I remembered somebody else said something about "traveling salesmen"). The street is empty at night, but it is only a few blocks from the attractions. If you drive to this hotel, spend a few Euros and stop a taxi and let him guide you. It is not easy to find by yourself, even with the good signs all over the area. If I go back to Seville, I stay somewhere else. A word about the service: very good, friendly staff. No complaints there.
Pleasant and clean
This is a pleasant and clean hotel situated in a quiet back street, not too far from the main monuments and particularly close to the shops. It has a particularly Sevillian style. The only slight problem was that the air conditioning didn't work for my whole stay! However, this aside, I was pleased and would happily stay there again.
Very Nice Place
I stayed at Cervantes in January 2004 and found it to be very nice. Set up like and apartment complex with a center courtyars, the hotel rooms were very clean and comfortable. The location is a bit outside of the center of town, but a 5 minute walk is all it takes to get there. This is a very safe choice for your accomodations in Seville.
Disapointed
Although the hotel is clean and well located, we had problems with the following: Parking - if you have a jeep forget it - it wont fit in the Hotels parking elevator, so you have to park in a public car park On two occasions the Hotel reception gave us poor advice as to where to dine - we wanted to see Sevilliana Dancing with dinner and they sent us to restaurants thatr didn't have that! Room service is a joke - we asked for a bottle of Champagne and they couldn't find one Beds are hard. This is an ideal hotel for a travelling salesman. Certainly doesnt deserve the rave reveiws obviously sent by travelling salesmen!
Great place to stay in Seville, Spain
My wife and I stayed at this hotel in Sept 2003 and were very satisfied with the accomodation and service. It is well located in the old town (take a good map!)within walking distance of the main sights. It has a small garage underneath the hotel so if you are driving be sure to book a car parking space (extra charge) as otherwise parking could be a problem. Rooms are spacious and well equipped and maintained. Breakfasts were good and overall this hotel represents good value. One minor gripe - the aircon is centrally controlled and appears to go on and off at random - however a phone call to reception usually restored the service.
Great hotel!
I chose the Cervantes Hotel based on various reviews and my expectations were exceeded by the quality of the accomodations, helpfulness of the staff and good location (within walking distance to major attractions). The hotel made my stay in Seville all the more enjoyable and I would glady stay there again!
Great place, great price, great staff
Cervantes hotel was exactly what we wanted for our vacation. It is located very close to the best attractions and cute places to eat and hang out. The staff was very helpful and could speak English. The room was nice and seemed very safe. I would strongly recommend this hotel to all my friends.
