In Mexico, unlike the United States, Carnaval celebrations do not end on Fat Tuesday with the beginning of lent but go on for weeks. It was a sleepy little village, mind you ...

We got back on the bus and headed to our next destination, Maruata. We didn't know any thing about this place until we finally made it there. At this point in our travels we haven't seen any other backpackers until two surfer guys jumped on to our bus, yep didn't want a bar of us, not even a hello, maybe they didn't speak English? Wease asked the bus driver how long until our stop and he replies "15 minutes" and 50 minutes later (thats mexican time) the bus driver ...
