It wasn't really cold up the mountain, about 3º C and the sun was out, to wear snow gear one could have been over dressed!. There hasn't been a fall of snow in the past week so the snow wasn't fresh and quite icy and there were a few incidents of slipping over.
It was certainly worth the trip up to this place for a inexpensive day of fun, and no churches ...
School is finally out for the year and there is no better way to celebrate than a trip to the alps for some pre Xmas snowboarding! So excited as it's been a whole year since I have been snowboarding. The holiday didn't start so well as we got an email from the people at Chamonix to tell us that Chamonix actually has no snow!! Kind of important!! But luckily the lady was able to tell us about some other ski resorts nearby that had already opened so crisis averted ...

Anyway, we went up on the cog train to the higher Gornergrat with it's thinner air and magnificent views of the snow mountains and glaciers.
