We are slowly getting adjusted to our 6 hour difference with all kids waking up in the middle of the night. We had our window open and Wyatt's cries were easy to hear. Last night was dinner on an outside open area in town and appreciated after airline gastric distress food.

We asked Simon why the lawns around the apartment building were not cut - he explained that the Bernese people like to see the flowers (we would call them weeds) and feel the grass under their feet. ... we boarded the German Railways ICE train which was already waiting in the platform and heading for Berlin.
These ICE trains are amazing machines and are extremely spacious inside. We travelled standard class which I was well impressed by. Each coach has about 4 compartments with 6 seats in each then open plan seating for the rest of the coach.

... running theme is also evident in it's sculpture and architecture. I had just enough time to pop into the alpine museum, which explores the Swiss history of mountaineering. A very contemporary exhibition, which I must admit was a little lost on me.
The city clearly offered a lot more than I allowed myself time for so I'd definitely be interested in making a return visit and spending longer there. ...
