Where to begin? First up: our flight or should that be our flight of hell? As we boarded our second leg it was discovered that we were spread out around the aircraft. We sat in our seats, from the stone age-if you didnt have a dose of 'rhoids' before the flight then there would be a fair chance they would be there by the time the plane landed in Zurich. The clincher of the flight was a crying baby, who decided to show us just how strong his little lungs were... for 10 out ...
... look around Lenzberg Sat morning by myself. Very small. The old town is really just a couple of streets so didn't get lost there. Then went up the hill to the castle. OK
On Sat afternoon went into Zurich with Nina and had a look around. Not as I remembered it - mind you it has been 30 years. Liked the city and the sights.
Got taken out to dinner that night to a lovely restaurant by a lake about 20 km from ...
... back into old town for dinner only to find our dinner spot closed (possibly permanently.) We headed to our backup choice, only to find out nothing on the menu looked good. Tired of walking around, we decided to just be bums and eat in the restaurant hotel. Turns out, this was one of the best decisions ever. The appetizer was a beef tartar prepared at our table with our own choice of ingredients. Fantastic. The main courses were a pork cordon bleu for me ...
Following a late arrival into Zurich airport, we have managed to dispel a number of myths:
1. Not all custom officers are unfriendly and mean, I was provided useful advice about when was the best time to visit Jungfrau – and she was right!
2. Not all Swiss trains run on time, ours into Lucerne was over 30 minutes late!
